Our Story

BASIC PRINCIPLE

Founded in December 2013, Meloclassic is an independent classical label dedicated to presenting previously unissued historical recordings of high-quality live radio performances and broadcasts of artistic significance. Each release is thoughtfully curated, focusing on highly skilled yet lesser-known performers, renowned artists interpreting repertoire they never recorded commercially, or recordings that capture musicians in exceptional form. Rather than prioritizing technical perfection, we emphasize the intrinsic musical value of each performance. Whenever possible, live recordings are presented in their entirety, allowing listeners to experience these historical moments as if attending the original performances.

CATALOGUE

Meloclassic’s active catalog features approximately 150 releases, with around 10 new titles introduced each year. Our CDs are professionally pressed (replicated discs) in accordance with the Red Book Standard (Compact Disc Digital Audio), ensuring superior quality over CD-R (duplicated/burned discs). Each release includes extensively researched English-language booklet notes, offering in-depth biographical portraits of the artists—highly praised by leading critics and valued by customers worldwide. In addition to widespread recognition, we have also received several major international awards.

REMASTERING

Meloclassic CDs are internationally acclaimed for their outstanding quality. We employ a range of post-production techniques to achieve the best possible sound while staying true to the authentic tonal fidelity of these historical performances. Every Meloclassic release is sourced exclusively from original tapes or original 78rpm metal parts from radio archives, ensuring superior sound quality. In contrast, publications based on private recordings from broadcasts cannot match this level of authenticity and clarity.
